After a good night’s sleep, we set off on what would be an almost circular drive. We packed the tent up and set off for the Bernina Pass. We stopped just before the top and took the cable car up to the Diavolezza Hutte. Then over the pass to Tirano, round the South East corner of Switzerland to Chiavenna. The Swiss border guard made us empty the car out in the rain. Then climbing the hairpin bends of the Maloja and to the campsite by the Silverplaner See. I seem to remember that we had the most inedible meal of boiled rice, instant mash, Irish stew and baked beans. The only thing we enjoyed was the bottle of Swiss wine.
